ACW Mission Statement
"To improve the lives of the disadvanted by increasing their chance for employment while also providing the chance for the private sector to contribute to the community."
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
“A Chance to Work” (ACW) is an international program that gives disadvantaged people an opportunity to improve their lives in the communities where the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and its private sector partners operate. The program provides six months of paid work and on-the-job training in skills the private sector demands, after which participants enter the job market.
The ACW program was created in 1997 by IFC's Legal Department. Originally established as a D.C. based jobs training program, ACW has expanded to become a global endeavor, with programs currently in Cairo, Lima, and Moscow. The ACW program has helped hundreds of people to become an equal and stable part of their community.
