A pilot phase was initiated under the auspices of the LEAD Foundation which was formed by the Mansour Group with IFC's support. During this phase, 30 internships were established in the plumbing and automotive repair sectors. All graduates have found permanent jobs. The LEAD Foundation is now a fully operational NGO headed by Mr. Mohamed Mansour and managed by a board consisting of prominent business leaders. In Cairo, participants have developed skills in plumbing and automotive bodywork through a pilot project. The socially responsible employers who participate also benefit from dedicated and motivated workers.
